A history of excellence
In the early 1950’s, the Munn brothers moved to New York to study and work with renowned master framer Julius Lowy.
In 1955, the three brothers open their first shop, a premier manufacturer of antique replica picture frames. These frames house artwork that can be found in the White House, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and other notable institutions and collections. In the 1970’s, Max Munn, son of one of the founders, assumed responsibility for the family business. To secure its future, Mr. Munn expanded the business’ area of expertise to include extraordinarily framed mirrors for the world’s finest hotels and residences.
Building for the future
In 2013, Mr. Munn founded MunnWorks. Building on the family heritage of old-world frame making, MunnWorks established itself as a leader of innovation in the hospitality industry. In 2022, MunnWorks acquired VisionmarkNYC, further expanding its business to case goods. Our goal remains the same: to contribute to the creation of extraordinary products.
